GOLD for OBJECT CARPET: The new OBJECT CARPET x Ippolito Fleitz Group collection receives the coveted German Design Award 2021
And the winner is… OBJECT CARPET won the popular German Design Award for Excellent Product Design in the category “Material & Surfaces” in gold. With their extraordinary collection, which was designed in collaboration with the Ippolito Fleitz Group, they have created new spatial dimensions and given floors much more than just a carpet – they have gained their own identity, promoting and inspiring communication and creativity.
The German Design Award is organised by the German Design Council to
international design specialists from business, education and science and is one of the most recognised awards in the field of design. OBJECT CARPET has already won the German Design Award on several occasions – most recently for its “Places of Origin” collection and the innovative WELLTEX® back construction. The Gold award demonstrates once again how innovative and technical expertise in combination with expressive design makes OBJECT CARPET a leading carpet manufacturer.
“The new collection with the Ippolito Fleitz Group shows that our feeling for design and our connection with people have been well received. After 3 years in the creative process we are especially proud that the collection captures the spirit of the times,” emphasises Daniel Butz, managing director of OBJECT CARPET. Among the numerous entries, OBJECT CARPET convinced the jury in the “Material & Surfaces” category with its eight new materials in 111 colours. The extraordinary colours and different structures won the jury over. The high-quality materials inspire unique, atmospheric interiors and furthermore generate curiosity for the product with original eye-catching pictures and pointed texts.
The special thing about the about the collection with the renowned Ippolito Fleitz Group: you will feel like trying out new things, combining colours and structures in entirely new ways and creatively designing floor coverings. The material names alone, such as MEET x BEAT, WALK x TALK and FLOW x GROW, already suggest that the carpets contribute to a very special ambience. On top of that, all the materials in the collection are made of a sustainable ECONYL® fibre, although they still appear like a blend of wool and textile. The added benefit here is that the synthetic fibre is free of bitumen, latex and PVC. Additionally, OBJECT CARPET produces carpets that are made from recycled fishing nets. The plastic waste salvaged from the sea by the Healthy Seas Initiative is then processed by Aquafil into ECONYL® fibre and forms the basis for fascinating designs by the Stuttgart carpet brand.
The numerous advantages and creative designs from the OBJECT CARPET x Ippolito Fleitz Group collection will evoke “Desire for textile” and now they are gold winners for their excellent product design.
