Orgatec 2024: WALTER KNOLL, OBJECT CARPET, SATTLER and ZIMMER + ROHDE in Hall 5.2

New standards for the architecture of modern working environments

Four strong German family businesses, four brands and four product competencies: The joint appearance of WALTER KNOLL, OBJECT CARPET, SATTLER and ZIMMER + ROHDE at Orgatec 2024 in Cologne was a complete success. The renowned manufacturers pooled their expertise at the leading trade fair for modern working environments and were able to impress the experts right from the start.

From flooring, furniture and lighting to textiles and complete room installations – the joint stand of WALTER KNOLL, OBJECT CARPET, SATTLER and ZIMMER + ROHDE was one of the trade fair highlights at Orgatec 2024. “Under the motto ‘Create, craft, connect’, we succeeded in creating a circular presentation that inspires and takes work and living spaces to a new level,” explains Daniel Butz, owner and Managing Director of OBJECT CARPET.

The four managing directors invited visitors to a press cocktail in Hall 5.2 on October 22 to kick off the trade fair and were delighted with the lively interest. The Ippolito Fleitz Group was responsible for creating a floating spatial architecture over 840 square meters, which used textile scenarios and lighting effects to create a world full of emotion and formal design art. Another element linking the four brands is the theme of sustainability, which also ran like a common thread through the presentation and generated a great response.

At Orgatec, WALTER KNOLL presented three chairs from its collaboration with the designers from EOOS. The Sheru Evo, Leadchair Evo and Yunity chairs do without upholstery foam and offer changeable covers without compromising on seating comfort. The Evo principle, which is used in the products, is a continuous development that gives existing and new products a new sustainable dimension. Another highlight is the Aion Table, the result of a collaboration with the architecture firm Foster + Partners. A table made of wood, reduced to its essential components. The soft profile gives Aion Table warmth. Gentle contours and tactile comfort are an invitation to sit down, exchange ideas or simply be together.

OBJECT CARPET has succeeded in making carpets recyclable with its innovative DUO carpets, which consist of just two materials. In Cologne, the specialist for premium floor coverings went one better and presented the PLACES OF ORIGIN collection as a DUO carpet with the new WELLTEX® Circular acoustic backing, which combines outstanding acoustic properties, high comfort, recyclability and particularly easy installation. The company is thus expanding its recyclable range and combining circularity with an exclusive design language.

In combination with a variable lighting concept such as the AVVENI pendant luminaire series from SATTLER, a perfect interplay of individual furnishings and the right lighting ambience was created. The lighting specialist also presented the new PALADIO FLOOR free-standing luminaire for up to two computer workstations and PURE MOTION for sculptural highlights. At Orgatec 2024, it was impressively clear how luminaires and floors merge to create modern working environments.

ZIMMER + ROHDE presented sustainable textiles made from organic and recycled materials that significantly enhance interiors and offices. The modern textile publisher for luxurious upholstery, curtains and wallcoverings stands for innovative furnishing textiles and top quality. At Orgatec, it staged a successful technical and fabric performance with the SUNDANCE sun protection system. This slows down the heating in summer, while in winter the warmth remains in the room. The VITRUV room divider in ten trendy colors also made an impression as architecture turned into fabric. The softly flowing DARK MOON blackout curtain also attracted a lot of attention. It improves room acoustics by absorbing sound and is made of 100% recyclable polyester.

This year’s Orgatec offered the four brands an ideal stage to emphasize the interplay of flooring and light, design and materials in modern, individual office design. But each brand also tells its own story, rooted in tradition and shaping the future of interior design with excellent craftsmanship, aesthetics and high functionality. For all four traditional companies, sustainability and outstanding design go hand in hand to help shape a greener future. For the environment and future generations.
